5 future Tommies play in June 27 All-Star FB Game

St. Thomas' 50-plus freshman recruiting class for 2009 includes five players named to the Metro or Outstate rosters for the June 27 Minnesota High School All-Star Football Game. The 7 p.m. game at St. Cloud State's Husky Stadium featured 86 players and was won by the Metro team, 54-13.

The Tommie recruits particpating (listed with their high school positions) are:

--Luke Dewall, Stillwater (DB-PK), Metro

--Miles Drake, Cook County (QB), Outstate

--Logan Marks, St. Thomas Academy (OL), Metro

--Kyle Mulrooney, Andover (DL), Metro

--Derek Wilfahrt, New Ulm Cathedral (DB), Outstate

The five representatives give UST one of the highest totals of any universiity. According to the St. Cloud Times, the all-star roster includes six players signed to play for North Dakota State; three headed for St. John's; three headed to St. Cloud State; two who signed with the Gophers; and two signed with Northern Iowa.
