UST's Greg Kaiser named MIAC Offensive Player of the Week
October 4, 1999
St. Thomas quarterback Greg Kaiser (SR, Mora, Minn.) led the Toms to an 18-17, come-from-behind win at previously-unbeaten Gustavus. He completed 25-of-32 passes for 247 yards and two TDs with one interception, and converted 4-of-5 fourth-down situations (3-of-3 passing). UST is 15-5 in Kaiser's 20 career MIAC starts, and he has directed second-half comeback wins in six of those games. He also has at least one TD pass in 22 of 23 career games. Kaiser moved into 23rd in Minnesota collegiate history with 5,362 career passing yards. He also ranks fourth all-time among Minnesota collegians in completion percentage (.603) and TD-to-interception ratio (48-20), and 10th in career TD passes (48). Kaiser is directing an offense that features newcomers at both backfield spots, tight end, and both wide receiver spots.
The Toms are 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the MIAC, in a tie for third place. They host Macalester Saturday at 1 p.m. in the 1999 Hoemcoming game.
