Saturday's UST football game to be televised on Media One

St. Thomas (3-2 overall, 3-1 MIAC) is in a four-way tie for second place in the MIAC behind 4-0 Concordia-Moorhead. The race could get even tighter this week as Concordia plays at 3-1 St. John's, and 3-1 Bethel is at 3-1 Gustavus. The 3-1 Toms host 1-3 Carleton in a 1 p.m. kickoff here in O'Shaughnessy Stadium. The game will be televised live on Media One Cable in St. Paul (channel 25) and in northern and southern suburbs. The game also will air on the radio on KYMN 980 AM in Northfield.

Saturday will be Greg Kaiser Day. The Tommies' senior quarterback will be honored at halftime as a 1999 Burger King National Scholar Athlete of the Week. Burger King officials will be on hand to present a $10,000 scholarship award in Kaiser's name to UST President Rev. Dennis Dease for the university's general scholarship fund. Kaiser, an Aacdemic All-American, has a 3.87 gpa in Business and also was honored this season as a member of the American Football Coaches' Association (AFCA) Good Works Team for exceptional community service.
