UST 2000 FB schedule revised for Dome date

June 7, 2000
The 2000 MIAC football schedule has been revised due to a conflict with the Metrodome, the site of the traditional games for week nine of the conference season. The games this year will be played on week 8, Nov. 3-4. The previously-announced schedule has been flipped, meaning UST will play Bethel in the Metrodome Friday Nov. 3 at 8 p.m., instead of on the road Nov. 11. The Toms' home game with Hamline will be moved back to Sat. Nov. 11.

That keeps UST with four home games, including a Sept. 30 clash with rival St. John's.

The Toms are continuing their non-conference series with Division II Bemidji State -- playing in Bemidji to open the season Sept. 9 and getting a return home date to open the 2001 season.

A new draw in the MIAC schedule means UST opens at home Sept. 16 vs. Concordia-Moorhead. They also play St. John's at home -- for the second year in a row -- on Sept. 30.

UST has had back-to-back 7-3 seasons under Coach Don Roney. The Toms have four consecutive 7-2 MIAC finishes, three MIAC runner-up placings in a row.
