Toms QB Nick Ambrasas gets MIAC honor

Offensive
University of St. Thomas quarterback Nick Ambrasas (JR, St. Paul/Arlington HS) in just his fourth college start, completed 27-of-33 passes (81.8%) for 266 yards with one TD and no interceptions and also ran for a short TD in the Tommies 34-24 road victory at Gustavus. Ambrasas directed an offense that rolled up 474 yards of offense, had no turnovers and had a 39:00-21:00 advantage in time of possession. The Tommies are 5-3 overall and 5-2 in the MIAC, tied for third with St. Olaf.
Defensive
Bethel College free safety Hans Bengtson (Jr., Northfield) led Bethel's defense in stopping St. John's Saturday with a team high nine tackles (7 solo, 2 assists). He also intercepted three passes and had 2 pass breakups. His final interception came on the game's last play, intercepting a Johnnie pass at the five yard line as St. John's was going for a potential game tying touchdowns. Bengtson also punted three times for a 38.7 average.
Special Teams
Bethel College strong safety Nate Klint (Jr., Arden Hills/Mounds View) returned four kicks for 212 yards (53.0 average), including 84- and 85-yard touchdowns in Bethel's win over St. John's. His first touchdown came near the end of the first quarter when St. John's was up 17-7. To open the second half, Klint returned a Johnnie kick 84 yards to put Bethel ahead 34-23. Defensively, Klint had 5 tackles (4 solo, 1 assist) and two QB pressures.
