3 Tommies near D-III football stat leaders

Three St. Thomas football players are ranked in the top 10 of four categories in NCAA Division III statistics.

Senior defensive end Sean O'Leary is tied for first in sacks with six in three games. O'Leary, who had 14.5 sacks last season, became the Tommies' career leader with 2.5 in Saturday's 41-7 win over. He now has 24.5 sacks in 23 career starts and needs two sacks to move into second on the MIAC career list.

Senior running back Jake Barkley is tied for third in scoring and is third in rushing yards per game. Barkley is averaging 167.7 ypg and 20 ppg with his 10 touchdowns.

Senior QB Nick Ambrasas is ninth in passing efficiency at 179.8. Ambrasas has completed 58.2% of his passes for 782 yards with six touchdowns. He's thrown just two interceptions in 69 attempts this season. On his career, he's thrown 41 TD passes with just 21 interceptions.

In team stats, the Tommies rank 17th in total offense at 473.3 ypg; 18th in scoring at 40.3 ppg; 35th in rushing at 214.3 ypg; and 35th in turnover margin at plus 4 (1.3 tpg).
