Football lands seven on 33-man All-MIAC team

St. Thomas had seven players among 33 honored on the 2002 All-MIAC football team announced today.
For the first time in several years, head coaches voted by position to select the honorees. The Tommies and St. John's had seven first-team honorees, while Concordia and Gustavus each had five.
On offense, the Tommie honorees were QB Nick Ambrasas (SR-St. Paul/Arlington), RB Jake Barkley (SR-Plymouth/Robbinsadle Armstrong), WR Andrew Hilliard (SR-Woodbury), TE Jon Learn (SR-Red Wing), OG Joe Moline (SR-Duluth/Central) and PK Andy Clark (JR-Anoka/American School of Japan). On defense, DE Sean O'Leary (SR-Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) was honored.
The second-team All-MIAC honorees from St. Thomas were linebackers Rick Joslin (SR-Cambridge/Cambridge-Isanti) and John Kaiser (JR-Mora), DB Paul Sommerstad (SO-Apple Valley/Eastview), OT Logan Kane (SR-Inver Grove Heights/South St. Paul).
