Football revises 2003 schedule

July 23, 2003
The St. Thomas football schedule for 2003 has one change from what was previously announced -- the Sept. 27 non-conference game at Wisconsin-Stout will kickoff at 7 p.m., instead of 1 p.m.

The schedule features five home games, including the Oct. 4 Homecoming game vs. St. Olaf and a Nov. 1 game vs. rival St. John's.

The Toms' schedule has the foes in the same order as in 2002, but the site is reversed -- all of last year's home games will be played on the road this fall, and the 2002 road games will be 2003 home games. An exception will be the final game in the Metrodome vs. Concordia -- a scheduling conflict will prevent a Metrodome Classic in 2003, meaning a Nov. 8 home game vs. Concordia-Moorhead instead of a Nov. 7 game at the Dome.

Coach Don Roney starts his sixth season and must replace 21 seniors from a 5-5 team that tied for third in the conference race at 5-3.

The Toms' first home game will be Sept. 20 vs. Hamline.

Tickets for home games are $5 for adults and $3 for students. UST students, faculty and staff are admitted free with their St. Thomas ID.

Nine of the 10 games will have 1 p.m. kickoffs, with the Stout road game now set for 7 p.m.
