FB alum Tetreault named grad coach at Rowan

Division III football power Rowan (N.J.) University has hired former Tommie linebacker Blane Tetreault as a graduate assistant coach.
Tetreault finished his three-year career in 1999. He helped the Toms compile a 22-8 record in his era, was twice chosen first-team All-MIAC, and was named third-team All-Region in 1999.
On his three-year UST career he had 224 tackles, eight interceptions and five fumble recoveries. As a senior he recorded 88 tackles, including 2.5 sacks and 10 for loss, and added four interceptions, four forced fumbles and two recovered fumbles. As a junior, his 18-tackle performance against Carleton ranks among the best in school history.
The Fridley native started his career as a scholarship player at Division I Northern Illinois. He left there and served in the U.S Marines before returning to the Twin Cities and earning his degree at St. Thomas.
Rowan, 10-1 last season, has reached the NCAA semifinals eight of the last 11 seasons, with four national runner-up placings. The Glassboro, N.J., school is ranked eighth in the 2003 preseason poll by d3football.com.
