Accounting major with 3.93 gpa... received Academic All-America honors in 2005-06 in both football and track and field... played in parts of three games last fall before he was sidelined with a season-ending foot injury; will compete as a fifth-year senior in football and track and field… one of 15 national winners of National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Award and an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship… in 31 career games has 132 catches for 2,021 yards and 10 TDs; on pace to finish in top three of UST career charts for catches and receiving yards; will start for his fourth season and will break school record for career starts if he stays healthy in 2007... had team’s second best 40-yard dash time in preseason workout (4.49)… 2005: named HM All-American by Don Hansen FB Gazette; was All-MIAC and All-Region after he led the conference with 63 catches for 998 yards and six TDs, including five consecutive 100-plus yard receiving games; in Division III national stats, he finished 12th in receiving ypg and 13th in all-purpose yards; tied 19-year-old school record Nov. 12 at Hamline with four TD receptions -- all in the first half -- to lead a 35-13 victory; the four TD catches matched the UST single-game record set by fellow New Prague native Brian Biehn vs. St. John's in 1986; in just three quarters had 12 receptions for 224 yards -- believed to rank in the top-10 all-time in the MIAC for receiving yards in one game... 2004: 31 catches for 540 yards and two TDs... 2003: 24 receptions, 291 yards (15 for 153 yards in final three games)... also is 2X hurdles All-American and 3X track & field relay All-American for Toms' MIAC championship teams; ran on NCAA indoor runner-up 4x400 teams in 2004 and 2005; qualified for NCAA outdoor nationals in 400 hurdles three times and placed third in 2006; ranks No. 4 all-time in MIAC in 400 hurdles with best of 52.25; in six career MIAC championship meets, Theisen has scored 163 individual points and contributed to 48 relay points -- an average of 27 individual and eight relay points per competition; has 23 career top-five MIAC meet finishes (12 relay or individuals victories); at 2006 conference indoor meet, scored an unprecedented 46 individual points and had a hand in five victories, including the long jump and triple jump, and was named Outstanding Male Field Athlete; at May outdoor conference meet, his winning triple jump of 47-6 1-4 was third-best in school history... 2003 graduate of New Prague High, where he was honor student and Academic all-state; HM all-state, all-metro and 2X all-conference in football; 2X all-conference in basketball; and in track and field was state runner-up in 300 hurdles, had top-10 state finishes in long jump and hurdles, and was 7X conference champ... born 12-4-84... sister Katie, a junior, is Tommie national qualifier in both track and field and CC, a 13-event All-MIAC honoree, and holds a 4.00 gpa... son of Margo and Pat Theisen of Elko.
