UST's Conner Nord set for basketball all-star trip

Tommie men's basketball rising junior center Conner Nord has been selected for the 10-player USA Division III all-star team which is preparing for this week's trip to Brazil.

Former Tommie assistant and new Hamline head coach Jim Hayes is the all-star team's head coach.

One other MIAC player is on the squad: Macalester guard Dylan Kilgour.

The team will practice in Orlando on Aug. 4-5 before flying for several games against local club teams held in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

An Eden Prairie native, Nord has played in all 61 games on his career and helped the Tommies claim two MIAC championships and post a 52-9 overall record. As a freshman in 2011-12, Nord started 20 games after Tommy Hannon was sidelined. In two seasons at UST he has 430 points and 252 rebounds while converting 52 percent from the floor and 70 percent from the foul line. 

Player picAt Eden Prairie High, he was selected all-conference, Academic All-State, and was named to the state all-tournament team. He played on two Lake Conference championship teams, and on state tournament teams that finished fourth and second.
