Mark Buri named D-III basketball preseason All-American

St. Thomas guard Mark Buri (SR-St. Paul/Trinity) has been projected as one of the top 20 players in Division III basketball for ther 2001-02 season by d3hoops.com. Buri was named a fourth-team All-American -- the lone MIAC player honored.

Buri averaged 17.8 ppg last season and has 992 career points through three seasons.

The Tommies, who return three starters from a 19-6 team of last season, open their 2001-02 schedule Nov. 16-17 in the Wooster (Ohio) tournament. Their opening opponent will be Randolph-Macon.
