Partial men's CC squad runs Aug. 31 vs. Gophers

St. Thomas held out its top four runners and competed in a three-mile times run Aug. 30 vs. the Minnesota Gopher varsity team. Brock Stepan placed eighth to lead the Tommies in 15:35, followed by freshman Jim Hull (15th, 15:45) and sophomore Jason Overson (16th, 15:46).

Other runners for St. Thomas were Kevin Wright (19th, 16:02); Matt Hofkes (20th, 16:03); John Schwerkoske (21st, 16:06); Andy Peltier (22nd, 16:08); Brian Hauge (23rd, 16:10); Derek Harmon (24th, 16:11); Shawn Deluhery (26th, 16:20); Corey Fusco (27th, 16:20); Tristan Christ (28th, 16:26); Bill Kretsch (30th, 16:50); Colin Sullivan (32nd, 17:10); Mike Younes (33rd, 17:24); and Ben Sanders (35th, 18:26).

St. Thomas, ranked eighth nationally, will run its varsity seven Sept. 20 at the National Catholic Championships in South Bend, Ind. The rest of the Tommie team will compete Sept. 21 at St. Olaf.
