Senior Neil Atzinger placed 11th in a field of 204 finishers in 26:06 to earn All-MIAC honors and lead the Tommie men's cross country team to a seventh-place finish at Saturday's MIAC championships at St. Paul's Como Golf Course. 

St. John's (49) edged Carleton (63) for the team title. Each team had five seniors in its top seven.

Hamline (109) and St. Olaf (119) took third and fourth places, while Gustavus (134), Bethel (138), St. Thomas (148) and Macalester (161) took 5-6-7-8 in the 11-team field.

UST junior Matt Boumeester placed 27th (26:46), soph Seth Rosvold took 33rd (26:59), junior Kyle Brandon was 37th (27:01), junior Brian Sames was 41st (27:12), junior Rorak Hooten was 51st (27:35) and senior Greg Dowe finished 53rd (27:37).

Other Tommie finishers included soph Nick George, 60th (27:51); freshman Nick Michalik, 65th (27:56); junior Jason Mansur, 28:23; soph Mike Connell, 92nd (28:33); junior David Erstad, 96th (28:37); junior Scott Smith, 107th (29:03); soph George Williams, 118th (29:17); soph Tony Gerten, 135th (29:42); senior Eric Baumgartner, 140th (29:45); and freshman Adam Wetschka, 148th (30:03).

The Tommies will compete Nov. 10 in the NCAA regional at St. Olaf.
