
Conference runner-up St. Thomas had five of the 20 players named first team All-MIAC in men's hockey, including repeat first-team honoree Nick Pernula (SR-Osseo).
Pernula was joined by forwards Nate Ryan (SR-Apple Valley/Eastview) and Andrew Panchenko (SR-Eagan/Eastview) were joined on the first team by goalie Tyler Chestnut (SO-Faribault/Shattuck-St. Mary's) and defender Adam Davis (JR-Lakeville).
Forward Rob Johnson (FR-Duluth/East) made the six-man All-Rookie team.
Four Tommies were among 25 named honorable mention -- Johnson; defender Garrett Gruenke (SR-Plymouth/Benilde-St. Margaret), defender John Jaques (JR-Duluth/East) and forward Tom Knutson (JR-Duluth/East). Gruenke also made the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team.
In 16-game MIAC stats, Ryan was second in goals (13) and third in scoring (25); Pernula was fifth in scoring (24 points); Panchenko was fifth in assists (17) and tied for first with four game-winning goals; Davis was sixth in power-play points (11) and tied form fourth in defenseman scoring; Johnson was second in freshmen scoring; and Chestnut was second in goals-against average (2.34).
In all 25 games, Pernula's 38 points are third most in the MIAC, his 26 assists are tied for first and he's third in power-play points. He has 96 career points in 67 career games. Ryan has 68 points in 72 career games. Panchenko has 56 points in 93 career games.
