St. Thomas had seven goals from six different players and had 15 players score a points as it topped No. 8-ranked Hamline 7-4 in Friday night's MIAC men's hockey game on UST's home ice in Mendota Heights.
UST (6-8-4 overall, 3-4-2 MIAC) broke to a 4-0 lead and scored a season-high seven goals. The Toms snapped a five-game conference winless streak (0-4-1).
The Pipers (10-3-3, 5-1-1) lost their first conference game and allowed a season-high seven goals. Spencer Anderson and Chris Berenguer each had a goal and two assists. Hanline scored three third-period power-play goals after.
Joe Schraeder was in goal for UST and stopped 30-of-34 shots.
Beau Christian started in goal for Hamline but allowed four goals in the first 21:40 for Hamline. Zachary Faust played the final 38:20.
The teams play again Saturday at St. Paul Academy's Drake Arena (7:15 p.m.).
