Men's hockey gets Saturday win for weekend sweep

Tony Lawrence capped a seven-point weekend with two third-period goals that helped the St. Thomas men's hockey team claim a 5-2 victory over St. Mary's and a sweep of their weekend series.
The Toms (10-8-3) ran their season win streak to five and beat the Cardinals for the fifth game in a row.
Brad Moore stopped 24 of 26 shots and won in goal for the second night in a row.
The Toms, 7-3-2 in the MIAC with four conference games to play, are just one point behind conference co-leaders Concordia and Bethel.
The Toms play St. Olaf next weekend (Friday at St. Olaf, Saturday at home vs. St. Olaf. The Toms play Bethel Feb. 9-10, then are idle the final weekend of the regular-season. The MIAC playoffs start with the Best-of-2 semifinal round Feb. 25-26.
