Men's Soccer tops Cobbers in OT, 1-0

November 2, 2002
Matt Raplinger's low shot from 40 feet found the net and was the game winner Saturday in sudden-death overtime as St. Thomas scored a 1-0 victory over visiting Concordia-Moorhead in MIAC men's soccer action on the South Field.

Senior Dan Blaisdell assisted on the Raplinger goal -- his fifth of the season -- which came at 93:24.

The Tommies closed their MIAC season 6-2-2 and are assured of at least a third-place finish. UST, which won fourth game in a row, moved to 10-4-3 overall and won its second overtime game in eight days. The Tommies are now 6-1-3 in their last 10 home games.

Senior Will Loepfe had one save in recording his eighth shutout of the season.

Concordia (3-13-1, 0-9) suffered its 10th one-goal defeat of the season. Kris Overby had seven saves in goal.

St. Thomas finishes its season Tuesday (3 p.m.) at home with an exhibition game vs. the Minnesota Gopher club team.
