Men's Soccer gets 3-1 win over Pipers

Kris Gurda, Matt Raplinger and Andy Kaasa had goals and St. Thomas ran its men's soccer winning streak to three with Tuesday's 3-1 home-field victory over visiting Hamline.

The Tommies (6-5 overall, 3-2 MIAC), who outshot Hamline 20-8, are now 8-2-1 in their last 11 home games. Peder Hatling played the first 23 minutes in goal before leaving with an injury. Orin Kipp played the final 67 minutes.

Nick Agranoff played all 90 minutes in goal and had 10 saves for the Pipers (4-6-1, 1-3).

Gurda scored in the 15th minute and Raplinger made it 2-0 with a goal in the 53rd minute. Hamline cut the lead to 2-01 on Derek Vinge's goal in the 64th minute. Kaasa iced the win with a goal in the 88th minute.

The Tommies play Saturday at St. John's.
