Take an inside look at Tommie Men's Soccer

Message from the head coach

Welcome to the recruits page for University of St. Thomas Men’s Soccer.  I am excited about your interest in the program and hope you find what you are looking for.  If not, please contact me directly at ammacke@stthomas.edu or 651-962-6471.

How We Recruit

The men's soccer program at the University of St. Thomas consistently competes at the highest levels.  Since the inception of the program in 1968, St. Thomas men's soccer has won six Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) championships, amassed an overall record of 320-208-69, including a record of 271-126-48 in MIAC play.  During this same period St. Thomas players have earned four conference MVP awards, 10 All-Region awards and 74 All-MIAC awards.

We're committed to you as a student and athlete.  The coaching staff is focused on developing individuals as leaders through respect, dedication and competition at the highest level.  We take pride in our ability to work with students on a personal level, and be flexible enough to adapt to multiple learning styles.

As an NCAA Division III institution, we do not provide athletic scholarships (however over 95% of new-entering students receive some form of financial aid) or have you sign letters of intent.  Over the course of the year, we make every effort to get out and watch games.  This includes league games, tournaments and college showcase events.  Once you have your schedule(s), please forward a copy to us along with your player profile (including name, address, phone, cell, email, etc.)

It's not our intent to convince you to attend St. Thomas.  We are a resource to introduce you to our great institution, to provide you with valuable information, to answer questions and to help guide you through this exciting time in your life.  I recommend taking the following steps to learn more about St. Thomas and to engage in the process of discovering whether becoming a Tommie is the right thing for you.

  • Visit the UST home page and spend some time familiarizing yourself with the University.

  • Contact our Admissions Office at 651-962-6154 to set up a visit; where you’ll take a tour of campus, meet with an admissions counselor and of course meet with me.  You can optionally sit in on a class or stay overnight.

  • If you cannot get on campus in the near future or you’re looking for immediate information, please view the Q&A with Coach Aaron Macke.

  • Visit our Admissions home page and complete an online application.  I recommend completing this ASAP even though St. Thomas has a rolling admission.  It’s also crucial that you submit your $200 housing deposit immediately after acceptance if you plan to live on campus.
