Dave Linn gets NCAA invite in 200 backstroke

St. Thomas swimming standout Dave Linn (SO-Shorewood, Wis./Milwaukee Marquette) has made the cutoff for the 200 backstroke for the 2003 NCAA Division III Championships, set for March 20-22 in Atlanta, Ga.

Linn, who placed 14th last season at nationals in the 200 back, is seeded 15th in 2003 with a season best of 1:53.11. he seta school record last season of 1:52.56.

Linn also competed in the 2002 national meet in the 100 backstroke and 200 IM. Linn took 15th of 28 in the 200 back prelims with a time of 1:53.33. He made Saturday's consolation finals and placed 14th in 1:54.13. He scored five team points on the meet to let the Tommies tie for 43rd in the team race.
