Swimming & Diving teams announce awards

The St. Thomas men's and women's swimming & diving teams have set their captains for the 2003-04 season -- Molly Pein, Kim Smith and Missy Jackson for the women, and Adam Groebner and Paul Stahler for the men.
In 2002-03 postseason awards, Dave Linn and Krysy Harrod were named MVPs for the men and women, respectively.
The men's Scholar-Athlete Award winner was Dave Linn, while the women's Kristen Murray Trophy (women's scholar-athlete) went to Harrod.
The women's team Most Improved Award went to Kim Smith. The Greg Fitzpatrick Memorial (men's most improved) Award went to Nick Bohle.
The Most Team Spirit Awards went to Kate Boran and Groebner.
The winner of the Wackman-Klein-Omar Award for generosity of spirit in service to the St. Thomas Swimming and Diving Teams is St. Thomas staff member Bill Kirchgessner, the father of swimmer Katie Kirchgessner. Coach Tom Hodgson announced that in Bill's honor, the Wackman-Klein-Omar Award is re-named the Kirchgessner-Klein-Omar Award.
