Men's Swimming rules Mac Invite; Linn wins 3

Senior Dave Linn won three events to lead the St. Thomas men's swimming team to first place in Saturday's four-team Macalester Invitational meet.
(Note: all events in meters instead of yards)
UST (393.5) edged runner-up Macalester (363) by 30.5 points. Hamline (225.5) and St. Mary's (97) rounded out the field.
Linn won the 100 back (63.63), 200 back (2:15.95) and the 200 IM (2:23.41). Linn also swam on the runner-up 400 free relay (4:07.49) with Matt Des Marais, T.J. Hardy and Tyler Ormson.
UST's 200-meter medley relay team of Tim Mullee, Dave Turnbloom, Kevin Mullee and Jon Soldner took first in 2:02.92.
Hardy won the 100 free (56.06), took second in the 100 back (64.94) and fourth in the 50 free (25.23).
Kevin Mullee was second in the 50 free (25.18) and third in the 100 free (56.32).
Tim Mullee was fourth in the 100 back (67.56), second in the 200 IM (2:28.85) and fifth in the 50 free (25.70).
Des Marais was second in the 200 free (2:18.40) and 800 free (11:04.11) and third in the 400 free (4:49.30).
Other UST top-six placers were Paul Stahler, third in the 800 free (11:09.83) and sixth in the 400 free (5:19.98); Rob Erickson, third in one-meter diving (95.0); Soldner, fourth in the 200 backstroke (2:37.92) and sixth in the 100 free (61.52); Chris Scrabeck, fifth in the 100 breaststroke (1:39.22); Hank Kemp, fourth in the 400 free (5:14.84) and fifth in the 200 IM (2:52.96); and Adam Groebner, fifth in the 400 free (5:18.15) and fourth in the 800 free (11:15.57).
The Tommies compete at home Dec. 2 in a 6 p.m. dual meet vs. UW-River Falls.
