Senior T.J. Hardy and freshman Matthew Moore each had a hand in two firsts as the Tommie men’s swimming and diving team opened its dual-meet season Friday night with a 162-129 loss at Carleton.
The Tommies had four firsts and 11 second-place finishes.
Hardy led off the winning 200 free relay with Kevin and Tim Mullee and Mitchell Johnson in 1:29:20. Hardy also won the 50 free (22.43) and was second in the 100 back (56.78) and 100 free (49.64).
Moore won the 200 IM (2:07.25) and 200 back (2:04.89).
UST also had seconds from its 200 medley relay (1:42.00); Andrew Spratt in the 1000 free (10:46.42); Johnson in the 200 free (1:51.96) and 500 free (5:18.28); Nick Frost in the 200 breaststroke (2:31.76) and the 200 IM (2:15.40); Jeremy Anderson in one-meter (184.00) and three-meter diving (160.30); John Stark in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.43); and Kevin Mullee in the 100 fly (54.87).
