Tommies' T.J. Hardy sharp in pool

Senior T.J. Hardy had a hand in four top-three finishes to lead the St. Thomas men's swimmers at Saturday's St. John's Fall Invite.

St. Cloud State (1137.5 points) took first followed by South Dakota State (533), St. John's (474.5), St. Thomas (422) and Macalester (72).

Hardy was second in both the 50 free in 22.06 and in the 100 free in 49.23. He placed third in the 100 back in 56.98. He also led off the Toms' third-place 400 free relay which clocked 3:18.73. Tim and Kevin Mullee and Mitchell Johnson rounded out the relay.

Matthew Moore was third in the 200 IM in 2:04.63 and third in the 200 back in 2:02.29.

Tim Mullee was sixth in the 50 free in 22.35.

The 200 medley relay team took fourth in 1:41.87 with Moore, John Stark, Kevin Mullee and Hardy.     

Andrew Spratt took fourth in the 1000 free in 10:53.19.

The Tommies will compete Nov. 17 at the Macalester Invite hosted by St. Catherine and open their home season Nov. 20 vs. Macalester.
