Men's Swimming in third into last day at MIACs

The St. Thomas men's swimming & diving team sits in third place after two rounds of the MIAC Championships in Minneapolis. Saturday marks final day of the three-day event held at the U of M Aquatic Center.

Gustavus (547) leads St. Olaf (507) for first placem, with UST (284), Carleton (277) and St. John's (207) next in the eight-team competition.

In the 100 backstroke, T.J. Hardy took fifth (53.13) and Tim Mullee placed 14th (56.74).

In the 100 breaststroke, Nick Frost placed sixth (61.18), John Stark took seventh (61.38) and Patrick Becker was 14th (64.01). 

In the 400 IM, Matthew Moore was 10th (4:22.37), Kirk Stearns was 13th (4:33.26) and Brent Johnson placed 15th (4:41.33).

In the 100 fly, Kevin Mullee placed sixth (52.24).

In the 200 free, Mitchell Johnson placed ninth (1:45.64) and Teddy Paterson took 15th (1:48.78).

UST placed fourth in the 200 medley relay in 1:36.20 with Hardy, Stark, Kevin Mullee and Tim Mullee.

The Toms placed fifth in the 800 free relay in 7:09.41 with Mitchell Johnson, Moore, Paterson and Hardy.

Friday morning session

In the 100 backstroke, T.J. Hardy took fourth (52.72) and Tim Mullee placed 14th (56.30).

In the 100 breaststroke, John Stark (7th, 60.82) and Nick Frost (8th, 61.71) made the finals, and Patrick Becker (13th, 63.82) made the consolation finals. 

In the 400 IM, Matthew Moore (9th, 4:24.58), Kirk Stearns (12th, 4:35.87) and Brent Johnson (15th, 4:44.11) made the consolation finals.

In the 100 fly, Kevin Mullee made the finals (7th, 52.55).

In the 200 free, Mitchell Johnson (9th, 1:45.98) and Teddy Paterson (14th, 1:48.83) made the consolation finals.
