Men's Tennis tops St. John's 7-2

The St. Thomas men's tennis team improved to 4-0 in season duals and 3-0 in the MIAC with Sunday's hard-fought 7-2 victory over visiting St. John's in Coughlan Fieldhouse. UST won three three-set matches in singles to pull out the victory.

The Tommies swept the doubles competition to open the match, then won at Nos. 2-3-5-6 singles. In a three-hour match at second singles, UST's Nick Donohue lost the first set in a tie breaker and was down in the second 5-2 before he rallied to win 7-5 and claim the super breaker for the third set, 10-4.

St. Thomas hosts Macalester Friday.
