Men's Tennis gets 8-1 win to open season

The St. Thomas men's tennis team scored an 8-1 win over St. Mary's Tuesday night in Coughlan Fieldhouse in the season-opening match for both teams.
The Toms swept singles, including close matches at Nos. 1 and 5, and also won at Nos. 2-3 doubles. St. Mary's won a 10-8 tie-breaker at No. 1 doubles. The 4 1-2-hour match including three tie-breakers.
St. Thomas plays Hamline Saturday (10 a.m.) in another home dual. UST also will play an alumni team following the match at 1 p.m.
