Men's Tennis loses 6-3 to Carleton

In a battle of regionally-ranked teams, Carleton outlasted St. Thomas 6-3 in Saturday's MIAC men's tennis match at the 98th Street Racquet Center in a near five-hour match.

The Toms (12-2 overall, 6-1 MIAC) lost their first conference dual meet despite winning at Nos. 2-3-4 singles with Brian Thomas, Blair Madsen and Tom Loper. Tut Fuller and Ben Herding lost third-set tiebreakers at first and sixth singles.

Five of the six singles went to third-set tiebreakers. UST also lost a tiebreaker at first doubles with Fuller and Thomas.

St. Thomas hosts nationally-ranked Gustavus Friday at 4 p.m. at St. Catherine's courts, and plays at St. John's next Saturday at 2 p.m..
