Men's Tennis announces 2006 team awards

The St. Thomas men's tennis team announced its 2006 team awards:

MVP
Grant Campbell (SR-Dubuque, Iowa)

Most Dedicated
Mark "Sam" McCullough (FR-North Mankato/Mankato West)

Most Improved
Kevin Manzel (SO-Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert), Brandon Heath (SR-Mpls./South)

Captains for 2006-07: Manzel, Ben Herding (SO-Hastings).

St. Thomas also had two players make the MIAC All-Academic Team (varsity players with 3.50 or higher cumulative grade-point averages) -- Campbell and Manzel.

St. Thomas finished 1-2 at the MIAC Tournament on indoor courts. Combined with their conference dual record, that puts the Toms in sixth place in the final standings. UST closed its dual season with a 9-11 record.
