Terry Peck has won many awards both as a player and as a coach. The 2007 campaign will mark his 17th season as St. Thomas men's head coach and 12th season as the Tommie women's head coach.
Peck coached his 450th match with the Tommies in 2006. He has a combined men's and women's dual record of 344-111 (.756 win%).
His 2000 men's team was MIAC runner-up and advanced to the NCAA team playoffs. His 2001 women's team was MIAC runner-up and had two conference champs and six MIAC runners-up. Then in 2002, both Tommie men and women's teams were conference runners-up, with the women reaching the second-round of the NCAA playoffs.
The 2003 Tommies both repeated as MIAC runners-up, and the women advanced to the second round of the NCAA team playoffs.
The 2006 Tommie women closed their regular season with nine consecutive victories and finished 14-5 on the dual season.
Over the last eight seasons, the Tommie women have built a 128-33 dual record.
The Tommies finished 16-3 in 2005 duals and placed third in the conference. Senior Jodi Dmohoski broke the school record for career wins as she finished 34-6 over her last two seasons and 70-14 overall on her career.
Over the last nine seasons, the UST men have had five seconds and three thirds in the men's conference standings and an MIAC dual record of 123-37. Peck's men's teams are 178-69 since 1994.
The Tommies also regularly post an excellent team grade-point average of 3.40 and higher. They've had two CoSIDA Academic All-Americans in the last five years -- Jacob Kraus (3.94 gpa) in 2002, and Tut Fuller (3.99 gpa) in 2005.
Peck was named MIAC Men's Coach of the Year in 1993 when he led the Tommies to the NCAA playoffs. In the same spring, Peck coached the woman's team to a top 10-national ranking and the NCAA tournament. He was a high school Region Coach of the Year twice.
Peck has coached or captained more than 20 adult teams representing the NWTA in national tournaments. He's also a renowned nationally as a coach, clinician, and author. He has coached several All-Americans and Academic All-Americans.
For parts of two decades, he has been director of tennis at the St. Thomas Summer Tennis Club. He also is respected for teaching adults and juniors the lifetime sport. He authored the book "Total Player--The Edge" and many tennis instructional articles.
