Men's Tennis gets team academic award

For the third year in a row, the St. Thomas men's and women's tennis squads received All-Academic honors by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Coach Terry Peck's teams qualified for 2006-07 with a team grade-point average of 3.20 or better. The Tommie women had a 3.48 team average cumulative gpa, while the Tommie men came in a 3.38.

Carleton's and Bethel's men and women, and St. Ben's and Gustavus' women were the other MIAC teams honored. Thirty-seven men's teams and 59 women's teams were recognized in Division III.

 ElevenTommie individuals also received ITA Scholar Athlete honors with gpas of 3.50 or above -- David Green, Phil Hanke, Shane Kitzman, Kevin Manzel and Murphy O'Hearn for the men's team, and repeat honorees Christina Alexander, Brittany Bachman, Cortney Dirks, Kasey Engstrom, Nickey Nichols and Leanne Pfeninger for the women.
