The St. Thomas men's tennis team closed its season at 11-7 with Saturday's 5-0 loss to Gustavus in the semifinals of the MIAC Tournament. UST had scored a 5-1 victory over fifth-seed St. John's in Friday's first round. The matches were halted once the team victory was secured with five points.
Against St. John's, the Tommies won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles and secured the win with singles points by Arya Vayghan at No. 1, Tyler Rice at No. 3 and Kevin Manzel at No. 5.
Against Gustavus, freshman Arya Vayghan was in a good battle with GAC All-American Andy Bryan, as he lost the first set 6-3 and trailed 5-4 in the second set.
