UST had three top-three finishes at Saturday's Minnesota State Mankato Invitational. Team scores weren't kept in a field that included several Division II teams and Division III's UW-LaCrosse.
Tommie sophomore Nick Hutton took second in the 1,000 meters in a field of 19 runners in 2:30.33, just behind his brother Mike Hutton (2:30.15) a Minnesota Gopher athlete competing unattached. Ben Sathre (2:36.36) and George Williams (2:36.66) placed fifth and sixth.
UST freshman Eyo Ekpo took second in the high jump in 6-4 3-4. In the long jump, Ekpo was 10th of 22 with a best of 22-0 3-4. Cameron Roemhildt jumped 21-6 1-4.
In the 600, Pat Jager was third of 17 entrants in 1:23.42; freshman Eric Lois was eighth in 1:25.02 and Ben Yorkovich was 10th in 1:26.45. Jager was ninth out of 45 entrants in the 200 meters in 22.86.
Matt Griswold took fifth out of 19 competitors in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.55.
In the 60 meters, Sam Moen ran 7.22.
