Sophomore Mike Hutton and freshman Eyo Ekpo had victories to lead the Tommie men’s indoor track and field performances at Saturday’s UW-Stout Invitational.
UST held out some athletes in the non team-scored meet, which included several top Minnesota and Wisconsin teams.
Hutton won the mile in 1:55.67. Ekpo won the triple jump in 45-0 1-4 and took second in the high jump in 6-5 1-2.
UST’s 4x400 relay placed second in 3:23.85. In the open 400, Eric Lois was third in 51.00; Pat Jager was fourth in 51.27; and Ben Yorkovich was ninth in 52.18.
Matt Griswold was third in the 55 hurdles (7.80); Cameron Roemhildt was fourth in the triple jump (41-10). George Williams was fifth in the mile (4:29.5); Anthony Kelly was ninth in the pole vault (14-3 1-4).
The Toms compete next Saturday at the Minnesota State Mankato Open.
