Men's Track tops Oles in Friday dual

The St. Thomas men's track and field team won 11 events and outscored St. Olaf 97.5-78.5 in a dual meet Friday night in Northfield.
The Tommies won the mile relay (3;33.84) and captured 10 individual events. Aaron Johnson won the weight throw (46-6) and shot put (46-5 1-4); Joe McCarney won the pole vault (14-1 1-4); Ben Garbe won the triple jump (42-11 1-2); Craig benson won the 55 hurdles (7.72); Roman Cress won the 55 meters (6.63); Andy Kummer won the 1,500 (4:02.79); Andrew Hilliard won the 400 meters (50.96); Brian Hauge won the 1,000 (2:38.21); and Jason Schwietz won the 300-yard dash (32.61).
The Tommies will compete again Mrach 1-2 in Northfield at the MIAC Championships hosted by Carleton. Friday's events start at 5:30 p.m., and Saturday's races start at 1 p.m. the Tommies will try to win the team championship for the 18th year in a row.
