Tish Dusich fifth, Roman Cress seventh in NCAA track

St. Olaf had a national runner-up and St. Thomas had two placewinners in Saturday's finals of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at Ohio Northern University.
Junior Tish Dusich took fifth in the 800 meters in 2:15.10. St. Olaf's Megan Daymont placed second in 2:12.54. Daymont's eight team points let St. Olaf tie for 20th, while Dusich's four points let UST tie for 40th.
Two other MIAC women competitors failed to score on Saturday -- Gustavus' Jackie Luehmann finished 11th in the shot put (43-4 1-2), and St. Mary's Ashley Dingels took ninth in the high jump (5-1 1-4).
On the men's side, Tommie junior Roman Cress took seventh in the 55 dash (6.42) to score two points. That let the Tommies tie for 47th place in the team standings.
St. Olaf got eight points from Cory Dingels' runner-up placing in Friday's long jump and finished tied for 22nd. Gustavus received five points for Luke Speltz' fourth-place finish in Friday's weight throw to tie for 30th. Hamline scored four points with a fifth-place finish in Friday's distance-medley relay to tie for 35th.
