P.J. Theisen gets MIAC weekly award

St. Thomas sprinter/jumper/hurdler P.J. Theisen (JR-Elko/New Prague) Tuesday was named MIAC Field Athlete of the Week in men's indoor track and field.

Theisen had a hand in three firsts last Saturday as St. Thomas opened its 2006 men's indoor track and field season in Saturday's Husky Open at St. Cloud State. Theisen won the long jump (22-2 1-4) and 500 dash (65.51) and ran on UST's winning 4x400 relay (3:23.96). The Academic All-American and three-time relay All-American also made the finals in the 55 hurdles (8.09) but didn't compete in that race.
