Senior Tayler Rahm had three hits on the day and extended his hitting streak to 15 games as the host Tommies (13-13) swept Monday's non-conference baseball doubleheader against Bethany Lutheran at Koch Diamond.
St. Thomas won 4-3 and 6-0 and run its win streak to five. After a 2-8 start, the Tommies have won 11 of their last 16 games to move to .500 for the first time this spring.
Sophomore Nick Gervais and freshman Zach Franz each recorded their first collegiate wins. Gervais got the final six outs of game one. Franz threw a seven-hit shutout in game two with eight strikeouts and two walks. Freshman Jared Dehmer worked into the sixth inning of the opener and was charged with three runs.
Freshman J.D. Dorgan tripled in a run in game one and hit a two-run homer in game two.
The Tommies, now 6-0 at home this season, got hits from all nine starters in game one.
The Vikings (15-7) never led on the day but tied game one 3-3 with a two-run fifth-inning. A single, an RBI double and a wild pitch plated the runs.
Charles Bruchu's two-out walkoff single in the last of the seventh won game one. J.B. Korte walked, was bunted to second, and scored on Bruchu's hit through the left side.
It was the fifth one-run loss of the season for Bethany.
Weather permitting, St. Thomas will play two games at at home Wednesday against Augsburg (2:30 p.m.).
