Senior Kierstin Anderson-Glass allowed no earned runs over six innings and added three hits at the plate Thursday afternoon to lead St. Thomas Softball to a six-inning 9-1 victory over Bethany Lutheran at South Field.
The Vikings (7-11) won game two, 5-2, to salvage a split of the non-conference games.
Anderson-Glass capped the first game with a walk-off, bases-loaded single in the home half of the sixth. She allowed four hits and two walks with five strikeouts on the mound to improve her career home record in pitching starts to 29-1.
The Toms' 14-hit game-one attack included a two-run home run by Sarah Hudson; two hits and a walk by Coryn Jacobson; and two hits each from Sammie Pettit and Bridget Armstrong.
Despite a career-high nine strikeouts, St. Thomas game-two pitcher Kendall Hopkins took her first career loss as she gave up four earned runs. The Toms managed only three hits and left six runners on base in game two.
St. Thomas (7-3) starts MIAC play at home Saturday against St. Mary's (1 p.m.) in a doubleheader.
