Junior Emily Gregory homered in each game and the No. 20-ranked Tommies (15-5 overall, 2-0 MIAC) opened their 2013 conference softball season Wednesday with two home victories over Augsburg (9-15, 1-5).
St. Thomas won 11-4 and 7-5.
The Toms, who never trailed, extended their home-field win streak to 31. They had 25 hits and overcame 23 runners left on base on the day.
Senior Alyssa Dunrud had four hits on the day to lead a balanced attack.
Gregory (shown at right) had a solo homer in game one and a two-run homer in game two. She closed the day 3-for-5 with two walks. Gregory now has hit 21 career home runs in 108 games.
Kendra Bowe allowed three hits and no earned runs in four innings in game one for the victory. Freshman Morgan Murphy allowed 10 singles and no walks in the complete-game win in the nightcap.
St. Thomas is home Thursday to face Bethel (3:30 p.m.) and on Saturday to face St. Olaf (1 p.m.).
