St. Thomas Men's Golf finished in seventh place in the three-day Twin Cities Classic tournament. The final 18 holes were played Monday in LeSueur, and 12 schools were represented with 16 teams.
UST closed seven shots behind Augsburg and 13 ahead of Bethel. St. John's (883), Gustavus (890), Manitoba (894) and UW-Eau Claire (896) took the first four team spots.
The Tommies played without No. 1 player Pete Sienko. Freshman Emmet Herb tied for 15th place among 90 players at 226 with rounds of 81-70-75. Owen Nowicki tied for 24th at 78-76-75/229. Matt Radke let the Toms' B team as he tied for 41st after shooting 79-78-76.
UST will compete Oct. 8-10 in the MIAC Championships in Coon Rapids.

St. Thomas' has two teams in the middle of the 16-team pack after day one of the three-day Twin Cities Classic tournament. Saturday's round was played at the Links at Northfork. Sunday's 18 holes are scheduled for the Elk River Country Club. Monday is set for LeSueur.
UST's teams shot 309 and 311. St. John's and Gustavus share the lead at 283.
