Tommie Men's Tennis had its 10-match winning streak end as it dropped a 5-4 decision to Carleton in Thursday night's MIAC match held indoors at Lakeville's Lifetime Fitness Center.
UST (10-3 overall, 6-2 MIAC) won at Nos. 1-2 doubles by 9-7 scores but fell one point shy in singles. Luke Elifson and Scott Wall won at first doubles and at Nos. 1-4 singles. Allen-Michael Muench and Brady Radermacher won 9-7 at second doubles.
Carleton (15-7, 7-1), ranked 13th in the region, can lock up second place in the conference and a No. 2 playoff seed with a win Sunday at St. John's, or with a UST loss Saturday vs. Macalester. A Tommie win against the Scots will secure at least a No. 3 seed.
Elifson has won 10 of his last 11 matches at first singles.
