M. Tennis falls to Carleton in MIAC semifinals

 

The third-seed Tommie men (11-4) had their tennis season conclude with a 6-2 loss at second-seed Carleton (17-7) in the playoff semifinals.

Ben Wait and Burke Anderson won 8-2 at third doubles, and Luke Elifson won 6-2, 6-3 at first singles. Elifson finished his season strong by winning 12 of his last 13 matches at first singles.

Fourth singles went unfinished, with Carleton's Ezra Frankel winning the first set 4-6. The second set ended with UST's Scott Wall leading 6-5.

The Tommies had only three conference losses -- one to MIAC champ, Gustavus, and two to runner-up, Carleton.

Gustavus claimed the MIAC playoff title two days later as it defeated Carleton 5-0.
