St. Thomas Women's Golf shot the best round of the tournament on Sunday with a 311 score to secure a second-place finish out of 16 teams at the Division III Classic in Lake City. The final 18 holes were contested on Sunday.
St. Thomas passed five teams on the final round. Carleton (626) won the tourney followed in the top five by UST (640), UW-Stout (641), St. Ben's (645) and St. Catherine (652).
Kate Balison (80-78) played as an individual and tied for 10th place out of 89 players. Marja Sorensen shot 75 on Sunday and tied for 12th at 159; Emily Thul and Morgan McCorkle tied for 18th at 160; Kate Drimel placed 22nd at 161. Erin Kehoe played as an individual and tied for 33rd at 167.
St. Thomas shot 329 on Saturday sits in seventh place out of 16 teams at the halfway point of the Division III Classic in Lake City. The final 18 holes will be contested on Sunday.
St. Thomas is just five shots out of fourth place.
