Women's Tennis opens fall with dual win

Two newcomers helped St. Thomas score an 8-1 victory over Minnesota State Mankato in a fall outdoor tennis match Saturday in St. Paul.

Catherine Lindsay and Sarah Benoy made their college debut with win in doubles and singles. Taylor and Paige McLeod and Caitlin Bakke also went 2-0 on the match for the Tommies.

Four other UST freshmen won exhibition matches against Mankato: Maheen Jamshidpour (Bothell, Wash.); Katie O'Connor (West De Pere, Wis.); Chole Asuncion (Eagan, Minn.;) and Laney Eggers (DePere, Wis.).
