Volleyball goes 3-1, loses close match to No. 1 Titans

No. 9-ranked St. Thomas took No. 1-ranked UW-Oshkosh to the limit before falling in five sets in volleyball Saturday on the Titans' floor. Oshkosh (27-0) rallied from a 2-1 set deficit and used a 15-12 margin in the decisive fifth set.

The Tommies (20-6) finished 3-1 in the two-day Oshkosh tournament as they also pulled out a five-set win on Friday against No. 6-rated Carthage (Wis.) and has wins over Lakeland and Bethel.

Kyley Crotty and Emily Foster made the all-tournment team. UST had the second-best record in the nine-team tournament behind 4-0 Oshkosh. Four of the nine matches Friday went to five sets.

St. Thomas plays again at home Wednesday against Carleton (7:30 p.m.) at CU's Gangelhoff Center.
