UW-Stevens Point “Pointers” Regional Tournament Notes -- Nov. 7
--UW-Stevens Point volleyball earned its second consecutive NCAA playoff bid, an at-large bid, and makes its fifth overall appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
--Point (29-7) repeated as regular-season Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) champion. The 2011 Pointers won the program’s first WIAC crown in 30 seasons.
--The Pointers, who take on Northwestern College in the tournament's opening round, have won 13 of their last 15 matches. They lost 3-0 to UW-Claire in the conference playoff finals.
--Point is 6-1 in five-set decisions this season.
--Point has five players with more than 195 season kills and three players with 100 blocks.
--Point has five seniors on its 16-player roster, including MB Morgan Bartowiak, who was named to the All-WIAC team for the second consecutive season. Bartkowiak finished second in the conference in total blocks (151) and blocks per set (1.15).
--Stacey White was voted WIAC Coach of the Year has a 212-198 record through 12 years as Pointers head coach and recently coached her 400th match.
