Kyley Crotty had 10 kills, 12 digs and three aces, and Emily Foster had 45 assists, 12 digs and three aces to lead No. 6-ranked St. Thomas to a four-set victory over St. Olaf in Wednesday's MIAC volleyball match in Northfield.
The Tommies (9-0 overall, 1-0 MIAC ) topped the Oles (8-2, 0-1), 30-28, 23-25, 25-14, 25-18.
St. Thomas, which ran its MIAC win streak to 31, has won 37 of its last 39 matches. The Toms have won eight in a row against St. Olaf, including several hard-fought battles.
For UST, Jill Osborne added 12 kills; Kaitlin Wachter had 15 digs; Katie Bonine had 10 digs; and Tori Jones had nine kills and five blocks.
The Oles' Kim Smisek had 22 kils and 16 digs. St. Olaf hit .182 and had one one ace while the Toms had 10 aces and hit .224.
St. Thomas plays three nationally-ranked teams this Friday and Saturday in St. Louis at the Washington (Mo.) tournament. The Toms face No. 18-ranked Laverne on Friday, then on Saturday play No. 1-rated Juniata and No. 7 Wash U.
