Volleyball eyes April 18 scrimmage vs. alumni

The Tommie volleyball team is currently holding spring practices sessions in preparaion for its April 18 scrimmage by a St. Thomas alumni team.

The Alumni team will be led by first-team All American Katie McCaffrey along with recent seniors, Katie Kremer and Dee Prioleau. Alumni wishing to participate should email or call Coach Thanh Pham at 651-962-5912 or volleyball@stthomas.edu. The scrimmage will be at 4 p.m. and be one of the last events held in Schoenecker Arena.

By conference rules, each team is allowed seven spring practices with one alumni game counted as one of the seven practices. St. Thomas is the two-time defending MIAC champion and will be lead by All-American setter Emily Foster and captains Kyley Crotty and Carlie Waibel. The Tommies boast a strong core of returning players and hope to build on a 28-3 season of 2008.
